Kailey Anne Annis

Has officially arrived. I received a text yesterday at 2:16 pm, saying Dominique was fully dilated and going to start pushing soon, then at 4:03 pm Kailey Anne Annis was born! 7lbs 9oz and 20.5 inches!

I am so happy for Dominique and Rob, I am hoping they are resting and enjoying the first day with there baby girl. I know Ed and I just keep looking at each other, and saying. Holy shit, that is our kid. We are responsible for her? It was nice that we were both in that same mental state of Holy Shit, this is real. Not so much the crying and tears of joy. Happy but realizing what a big life change we were going to encounter.

So Dominique and Rob, enjoy your Birthing Suites... here is what Provena St. Josephs had to say about there birthing suites...

The Family Birthing Suites at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center feature 28 elegantly decorated, private rooms where expecting moms experience labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum care in a homelike environment.

Comforting Amenities. We want to provide you with everything you need to make your stay with us a special time you'll always treasure. You'll feel right at home in our private suites, which include:

  • A gift bag of snacks and goodies for you and your support person

  • Private bathroom with shower

  • "At Your Request" room service, which allows you to order your meals from a restaurant-style menu

  • Armoire with television and VCR/DVD

  • Recliner sleeper chair for support person

  • CD and cassette player so you can enjoy your favorite music

A Safe, Secure Environment. The safety and security of babies born at the Medical Center is just as important to us as providing outstanding medical care. In addition to secure entrances to the Family Birthing Suites and a monitored visiting policy, our state-of-the-art infant security system ensures a safe environment for all new-born babies.

Rooming In Babies may stay in the room with mom around the clock, giving new moms an opportunity to bond and participate in their baby's care. Or as we like, babies crying, NURSE! Not that I want to shoe away little Alex every time he cries. But believe me I will have lots of opportunity to enjoy his crying!
